Strayan has been a fantastic journey for me. I've enjoyed attempting to build the best Aussie shopping assistant that could make a real difference to the purchasing patterns of Australians.
Recently I haven't been able to dedicate the time to Strayan. There's a few reasons for this:
- Competing priorities - I have a young family, a challenging job and some other long standing projects that were before Strayan that are all competing for my time
- The ongoing cost - While always envisaged as a passion project with a hopeful return, the costs of keeping servers and paying for data sources are more than the revenue of the app
Because of these reasons, I will unfortunately be shutting down the servers on 30th April 2023. If you have a Strayan MAX subscription and wish to get a refund, the FAQ page has been updated with instructions.
I hope you have found some value from the app and will continue to buy Aussie well into the future.
